Joe Perry was elected State Treasurer in December of 2024 by a Joint Convention of the House and Senate. Joe was first elected to the Maine House in 1996 and served 20 years in the Maine Legislature, with 14 years on the Taxation Committee, six as Senate Chair and two as House Chair. In addition, Joe served on Banking and Insurance, Transportation, Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, OPEGA, IDEA, and the Joint Select Committee on Property Tax Relief. Joe also served 3 years on the Bangor City Council.

Joe grew up in Veazie Maine, the 5^th of 6 children to Byron and Mary Perry. For 32 years Joe owned and operated a neighborhood market near his home in Bangor, where he resides with his wife and two children.

Gay Grant is the author of three books and is an experienced writer and public speaker. From 2005 to 2022 she owned The Write Way, a writing, grant writing and editing consulting firm specializing in non-profit development. Grant served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2012-2018. She is currently chair of the Maine Governmental Facilities Authority, a member of the Maine State Museum Commission, and the Statehouse and Capital Park Commission. She also serves on the Gardiner City Council.

She is married to Ron Grant and lives along the Kennebec River in South Gardiner. They have two grown children and a grandson.

John L. Martin has been in Maine politics since his first election to the Maine House of Representatives in 1964, and is sometimes called “The Earl of Eagle Lake” as a result. With his election in 2014, he is the longest serving legislator in Maine history. Martin’s career experience includes working as an assistant professor of political science and government at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He served as the president of Ambulance Services, Inc. and as the treasurer of the Northern Maine General Hospital. Martin has been affiliated with the American Academy of Political Science and the New England Political Science Association.
